Throat Cancer

The throat begins at the pharynx—a membrane-lined cavity located behind the nose and mouth—and extends down to the esophagus. Throat cancer can develop in any part of this passage, including the pharynx (nasopharynx, oropharynx, and hypopharynx) and the larynx (voice box), which are essential for breathing, swallowing, and speaking.

Warning signs may include a high-pitched breathing sound, persistent cough (with or without blood), difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, pain in the neck or ear, lumps in the neck, or a chronic sore throat. If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to consult your doctor promptly.

At the Asian Center of Oncology and Haematology, our team of experienced head and neck cancer specialists is dedicated to delivering the best possible outcomes through advanced and compassionate care. However, early detection remains the most critical factor in successfully treating any form of cancer.
