Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a specialized procedure used to diagnose and manage cancers of the pancreatic and bile ducts. It combines endoscopy and fluoroscopy to visualize and treat abnormalities in these vital ducts.
During the procedure, a flexible, lighted tube (endoscope) is gently guided through the mouth, esophagus, stomach, and into the first part of the small intestine. Once in position, contrast dye is injected to help capture detailed X-ray images of the bile and pancreatic ducts, revealing any blockages, narrowing, or malignancies.
At the Asian Center of Oncology and Hematology (ACOH), this procedure is performed by a highly experienced team of interventional gastroenterologists, ensuring safe, accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for cancers affecting these critical digestive structures.
