Local Flaps

A local flap involves the transfer of skin and underlying subcutaneous tissue from an area adjacent to the site affected by cancer, while preserving its natural blood supply. During this procedure, the surgeon repositions healthy tissue to cover and reconstruct the surgical site.

Local flap reconstruction is commonly used to restore the form and function of various body parts following cancer-related surgeries.

At the Asian Center of Oncology and Haematology, the Department of Plastic Surgery is staffed by experienced surgeons and specialized healthcare professionals who assess and recommend the most appropriate reconstructive options tailored to each patient’s needs.
