Radical Cholecystectomy

Extended (Radical) Cholecystectomy is a surgical procedure commonly used to treat gallbladder cancer. It involves the removal of the gallbladder, a portion of the liver, and surrounding lymph nodes to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence.

At the Asian Center of Oncology and Haematology, gallbladder cancer is managed through a multidisciplinary approach. A specialized team comprising gastrointestinal surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, gastroenterologists, and hepatologists may recommend laparoscopic techniques for precise and minimally invasive surgical treatment of gallbladder cancer.
